Foreign guests attending unity summit pledge allegiance with Imam Khomeini's ideals 

Sunni and Shia scholars from around the world attending an ongoing unity summit in the Iranian capital Tehran has pledged allegiance with the ideals of the late founder of the Islamic Republic.

The honorable guests visited the holy mausoleum of Imam Khomeini, which is located on the suburbs of southern Tehran.

On the sidelines of the pilgrimage, they also met Seyyed  Hassan Khomeini, the late founder of Islamic Republic.

During the meeting, Seyyed Hassan Khomeini discussed with the world Muslim scholars the regional and international situation and problems grappling with the Islamic World. 

Imam Khomeini came up with the idea of the Islamic Unity Week. This was based on the strategy of the Islamic Republic to avoid enemy traps and instead strengthen unity among Muslims.

Strengthening common discourses; confrontation between scholars of different Islamic sects and resolving misunderstandings are among the measures to create unity.
