Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Revolution, through his theological works highlighted that man is always in the process of choosing and selecting.
According to Imam Khomeini, man is a combination of the spirit of God and putrid clay. Therefore, the human beings are an arena of conflict between these two instincts,
Imam, the leader of contemporary Muslim world, stated that human beings are not a neutral spectator of their inner war. They remain like a commander who, by the choice they make, act to the benefit of one of the sides in the conflict.
Imam Khomeini through his historic mystical and theological works underscored that man not only enjoys the right to choose, but is also obliged to choose.
In other words, every movement of human beings is a form of choosing.
Of course, the scope of this choosing is our conscious and voluntary actions and behavior; not our genetic and environmental attributes.
For instance, we have not chosen our father, mother, race, or color beforehand.
Nevertheless, in our social behavior and relations we are always in the state of choosing and selecting. It is through these assorted choices and selections that we build, demolish and rebuild ourselves.
