He made remarks during a spiritual gathering held to mark the auspicious birth anniversary of Hadrat Fatima Zahra (‘a), the daughter of the holy prophet of Islam.
The ceremony was held at the holy shrine of Imam Khomeini in Tehran.
Imam Khomeini was born on the same day of birth anniversary of Hadrat Fatima (PBUH) on the Islamic calendar. Imam Khomeini through his theological works stressed that Hadrat Fatima ('a ) was a woman who embodied all the virtues of the prophets.
Seyyed Hassan Khomeini went onto say that real Shia Muslims are those who follow the commands of Imam Ali (‘a), the truthful successor of the holy prophet and the holy lady Fatima Zahra (‘a) in their practical lives.
"Shi'a means follower; follower means listening to what is said. Even if someone shouts that I am sincere, a disciple and obedient, the criterion is how much he listens to the commands and prohibitions of the lawgiver or the commands and prohibitions of Ali (‘a) and his infallible descendants in life; it is not about being a claimant or claiming,” the reputed scholar said.
Seyyed Hassan Khomeini went onto say that if someone sleeps and his neighbor is hungry, he doesn’t belong to Ahl al-Bayt school of thought.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Seyyed Hassan Khomeini said that the martyrs and their families who rendered sacrifices are source of proud for our people and country.
